[WEEK 1] 1/20-1/24

MON: MLK Day. No school.

TUES: Ms. T. showed her "About Me" PowerPoint. She then started going through the Syllabus, up to the CHAMPS rules. She explained how to add to the "About Me" drawing, fill everything out, get parent signatures, and color the assignment, and allowed about 15 minutes for the students to work on the assignment in class.

WEDS: Today, we finished going over the Syllabus, and a copy was handed out. Ms. T. then demonstrated how to do Sketch #1 and allowed students to work. Sketch #1 is due today at the end of the class period. Anyone who finishes early was told to work on their "About Me" Work Sheet.

THURS: Today, Ms. T. reviewed due dates, and what we learned yesterday. We discussed how to choose a good theme, and why we always start drawing in pencil first. She then handed out Sketchbook Folder paper, explained how to fold it in half, where to write your name and hour (inside top right corner), and students had the remainder of the hour to draw on their covers. We will be spending about a week and a half on this project, so we will only be drawing for the next couple of days. Homework tonight: study for your syllabus quiz tomorrow and finish your "About Me" work sheet!

FRI: You will have about 5 minutes to look over your study guide and turn in your "About Me" work sheet (if you forgot it, still bring it Monday, please). We will discuss gradients/shading in class tomorrow. At the end of class, Ms. T. reminded us which art cabinet to put our art folder in (labeled hour and table number).

If they finished early, they worked on their Sketchbook Folders. Anyone ready to color, could start coloring today, using gradients in their work.

WEDS: Ms. T. reviewed gradients from yesterday. She then demonstrated how to use a light source in Sketch #3. This assignment is due for all students at the end of the class period. We then worked on sketchbook folders for the remainder of the hour, using gradients and light sources in our work.
